Who are you? I’m a stargazer. A laid-back dreamer, creating a vivid reality

What is purpose to you? Purpose is that ripple you make when you throw a stone into still waters. It is the impact you have on society and the people around you. It’s your contribution.

Have you found your purpose? I create art that I hope will inspire people to see the good in themselves and in others. I am still creating because I believe in that message.

How is your purpose reflected in your art? By creating positive and thought provoking imagery I hope to challenge peoples perception of societal norms.

If you could describe your art would you? And if you would, what would you say? My work weaves sociocultural, economic and political commentaries on the twists and turns that have shaped the world around me. I use current events as a catalyst for conversations, to cross-examine a variety of themes and to also explore questions of physical, economic, political, spiritual identities and freedoms.

What inspires you? At the core of it art is a reflection of the times in which we live.

What drives you to do what you do? Life and the challenges within.

Why did you start making art? Ever since I could remember I’ve had a passion for creating.

What about the art you make allows you to be who you are? It allows me to be a creative. It gives me reason to dream.

Is there something you cannot live without in your tool kit?My camera I don't feel complete without it nearby.

What would you tell your thirteen-year-old self? You matter.

What would you tell your 60-year-old self? I love you and I’m looking forward to meeting you where you are.

Other than art, what else are you passionate about?History. I have been on a quest to dig up the past and relearn history. A couple of months ago I stumbled on this commencement speech that Toni Morrison gave that I would love to share.

“The past is not done it is not over it is still in process which is another way of saying that when it is critiqued and analysis it yields new information about itself. the past is already changing as it is being reexamined and listened to for deeper residences. Actually it can be more liberating than any imagined future if you are willing to identify its evasions, its distortions and lies. And are willing to unleash its secrets.”

Please excuse any typo’s as this was transcribed by me.

Anything you would like to leave us with? (Words of wisdom, advise, etc.) There is so much that needs to be changed in today’s society, and currently we are living through a filter. Any time something incredible happens we have the tendency to put up our cell phones to record what’s going on. It’s diluting our involvement in life making us less prone to that which we need the most, to act. It is time for action.

How important is a space like late fee magazine? This platform is needed for artist because it helps to share ideas and inspire one another. Thank you for creating this space.
