Why?

Why Late Fee Magazine?
For a very long time, I have yearned for a space where the stories I want to tell are valued. For a long time, I struggled with the pain of rejection from people who just don't understand the reasons why I created the work I produced. From platforms that catered to a majority and occasionally set their gaze upon the minority. Someone in my life told me "Don't let our stories go untold. If you want a space to create the space." So here I am. The Late Fee Magazine platform is an ode to the Artist of Color. It is also a place where spaces are created. The first such space is this platform itself. The second such space was “God’s Plan for Us” zine. More information on that in a later post but please click on the link above.
To be clear, while I am a photographer and writer by nature, that does not mean that this magazine is only focused on that. We cater to painters, authors, sculptors, etc. Whatever the art, you have a space for it here. Our goal here is to create spaces, and by "spaces" I mean this website, printed magazines, events, and many more.
Why the name “Late Fee”?
Because it’s long overdue, our magazine platform is a “ticket” or “bill” for all the years of neglect, closed doors, and broken dreams due to a system which catered to the majority and neglected the minority.
This website is the late fee and guess what? Payment is overdue.
